“pianobar” is a free/open-source, console-based replacement for `pandora’s`__
flash player.

The source code is available via `git`__ and `http`__ (`.tar.gz`__). It should
compile and work fine on every POSIX-compatible system and has been
successfully tested on Gentoo Linux, NetBSD, SunOS, `Mac OS X`__ and
Windows__. There are packages available for `ArchLinux`__, `Gentoo`__,
Slackware__, Ubuntu__ and Debian__.

“pianobar” supports all important features pandora has:

- Create, delete, rename stations and add more music
- Rate and temporary ban tracks as well as move them to another station
- “Shared stations”

and some that pandora does not have (yet):

- `last.fm`_ scrobbling (using an external scrobbler)
- Proxy support for non-americans
