+ - `gcc`, `clang`, or another C compiler
+ - `libtool`

+If you're not using a release tarball, you'll also need:

+ - `autoconf` (`autoreconf`)
+ - `automake`
+
+Make sure you have a complete `libtool` install, including `libtoolize`.
