Sudi De Winter’s interest in acting began at just six years of age when he appeared in the Mill Theatre’s production of Medea.
“I wrote to Crawford Productions and told them I was interested in acting and they asked me to do an audition. This led to roles in All the Rivers Run II, The Flying Doctors and ABC TV’s Street Angels.”
Sudi concentrated on his school work for a few years before taking roles in Ocean Girl (with Joelene Crnogorac), and Neighbours.
Like most teenagers, Sudi’s favourite past time is “mucking around with friends”. He is also a keen sportsman. He plays competitive basketball and enjoys cricket, tennis and loves to swim.
Unlike his character, Sudi is more into the music of the 60s and 70s than the music of Raw FM. “I have to be in the mood to listen to techno music. I prefer Bob Dylan, Simon & Garfunkel and the Doors. I like modern music but more Beastie Boys than techno.”
Sudi did have piano lessons but decided to give it away. “Everyone told me I’d regret it and they were right,” he says.
Sudi de Winter may not pursue a career in acting. He is interested in how the body works and would like to study osteopathy.
